Three and a half years ago, twenty-three members representing community agencies, child, and family development, education and healthcare, struck a steering committee on a quest to open a 'one-stop shop' family support centre in the Central Okanagan. The collaborative integrated community service delivery model connects families to community services that promote healthy development that fosters resiliency and life-long learning.
This dream became a reality when the United Way of the Central and South Okanagan/Similkameen and the BC Provincial Office of The Early Years provided the core funding for this project. Through a partnership with Central Okanagan Public School, space was provided at Pearson Elementry to host the Hub services. The Hub officially opened their doors with a unique ribbon-joining ceremony, rather than a ribbon-cutting, at their grand opening on September 23, 2016.
